**PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (June 13, 2022)** –The 2021-2022 Junior Tour of Northern California (JTNC) crowned champions Sunday at the Summer Series I Championship at The Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton.

Clark van Gaalen shot 4-under par 140 and Asterisk Talley shot 5-under par 139 to win their respective divisions at the Summer Series I Championship held Saturday and Sunday at par-72 The Reserve at Spanos Park.

Van Gaalen earned his fourth win of the 2021-22 season thanks to steady play over his 36-holes. In Saturday’s opener, he’d post four birdies to offset a pair of bogeys. On Sunday, he’d card seven birdies to go against a bogey and two double-bogeys.

With the win, van Gaalen is now just one more win away from tying Jaden Dumdumaya’s record for most wins in a season (five).

Runner-up Matthew Almajano came in at 142 after a final round 69. Third place went to Trenton Smart at 146.

Brandon Torres was fourth at 148, while Dawson Loo and Richard Ding came in T-5 at 150.

In the Girls’ Championship, Talley notched her record-setting ninth win of the season, passing Sabrina Iqbal for the all-time Girls’ JTNC record for most wins in a season.

In Saturday’s opener, Talley posted a 70 that included five birdies to go against three bogeys. A day later, she’d post a solid 69 with four birdies and just one bogey.

Runner-up Sammie Miller came in at 143 after a final round 68. Sofia Fernando was third at 147.

Three players—Darla May DeLa Torre, Abigail Lin and Petra Yee—all finished T-4 at 149.

In the Boys’ First Flight Championship, Ian Cheng shot a final round 72 to come in at 147 and defeat runner-up Ethan Cheng by six shots. Ethan had a final round 76.

Eunyule Ko and Robby Croslow were T-3 at 155. Aidan Fippin and Hyunha Na came in T-5 at 156.

In the Girls’ First Flight Championship, Paavni Behl shot a final round 72 to come in at 153 and defeat runner-up Chloe Ku by two shots. Ku had a final round 77.

Third place was shared by Jayleen Sito and Cynthia Liu at 158. Sito won third place in a card-off. Chelsea Kim was fifth at 159.

The next event on the JTNC calendar is the Summer Series II Championship, to be held June 15-16 at Poppy Ridge Golf Course in Livermore.
