Junior Tour of Northern California Crowns Winners During Fall Series I Championship at Cypress Lakes Golf Course
PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (August 26, 2025) – The 2025-2026 Junior Tour of Northern California (JTNC) hosted its second event of the season and crowned champions during the Fall Series II Championship held at Micke Grove Golf Links in Lodi.
Cathy Zhang and Jacob Watney both win their respective flights, the course played to a par-72 with the Boys teeing it up at 6,557 yards while the Girls played it at 6,086 yards.
In the Boy’s Championship flight, Jacob Watney becomes the second Boys champion for the 2025-2026 JTNC season after completing an impressive second round comeback versus the Boys field winning by two shots. Jacob's play was nothing short of spectacular as he carded rounds of 67-63 ending up at 14-under par 130. The Clovis talent's highlight has to be nothing other than the bogey-free 63 he turned in after round two, this performance happened to be only one shot shy of tying the course record! Jacob's stellar play included a total of thirteen birdies, one eagle, and just one bogey to cap off his championship weekend where he looks to build on this momentum as we head into the thick of the Fall Series Championships.
Runner-up in the Boys division was decided via a card-off after Armaan Khan and Reid Bulman finished tied at 12-under par 132. Ultimately it was Reid Bulman who took the silver medal as his 4-under 68 was enough to see out Armann Khan's 3-under 69 during round 2, Reid picked up a total of thirteen birdies and two eagles over the two rounds. Armaan, of Folsom, carded rounds of 63-69 tallying up thirteen birdies and two eagles as well. Leo McDonough took fourth place honors turning in rounds of 69-67 to finish at 8-under par 136, an emerging talent on the Junior Tour, McDonough had a total of eleven birdies.
In the Girls’ Championship flight, Cathy Zhang takes the victory by one shot to claim the Girls division. Cathy carded rounds of 71-70 finishing at 3-under par 141, one shot ahead of runner-up Ella Rawson. Cathy turned in five birdies throughout the 36-hole event, with her best stretch of golf coming during play of round two where she went bogey-free with sixteen pars plus two birdies. A 2027 grad from San Ramon, Cathy aims to be in contention for the 2025-2026 JTNC Girls Player of the Season season after last seasons 3rd place finish with 1,498 points.
Second place went to Ella Rawson at 2-under par 142, Ella had repeat rounds of 71-71 for 142 including five birdies. Ella also produced a bogey-free round during the first day making seventeen pars and one birdie, talk about all-around consistency in her golf game! Third place was secured by El Dorado Hills Bella Ransi who had rounds of 74-70 for 144, Bella carded eight bridies in total as she missed out on a runners-up medal by two shots. Subsequently, fourth place was awarded to Suri Zhang as she turned in rounds of 77-70 for a total of 147, Suri's weekend included five birdies.
