Junior Tour of Northern California Crowns Winners During Fall Series III Championship at Bing Maloney Golf Course
PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (September 8th, 2026) – The 2026-2027 Junior Tour of Northern California (JTNC) hosted its third tournament of the season, crowning champions during the Fall Series III Championship at Bing Maloney Golf Course in Sacramento.
Anita Lumpongpoung and Theron Amey win their respective divisions, with Lumpongpoung finishing at 4-under par 140 and Amey finishing at 10-under par 134.
In the Boy's division, Theron Amey wins his first tournament of the season in dominating fashion with a four shot victory. Theron was off to a quick start during round one as the Oakland talent carded six birdies during the opening eleven holes, kickstarting his championship weekend in the right direction. Theron would go on to card a 6-under 66 during that first round, following it up with a 4-under 68 second round that included four birdies and two eagles! In total Theron turned in twelve birdies and two eagles throughout the 36-hole tournament making him the tournament leader in stats as he broke par on fourteen holes. Victory at Fall Series III takes Theron up to 2nd on the JTNC Boys Player of the Year standings for the 2026-2027 season at 359 points, 43 point ahead of the player on the Boys standings.
Runner-up went to Blake Whittington of Rocklin at 6-under par 138, Blake carded eight birdies and one eagle over the weekend to earn himself his first medal of the season. Third place ended in a tie between Augustya Ganesh and Sebastian Cutchon, resulting in a card-off that was needed to separate the pair who were level 5-under par 139. In the end it was Augustya's lower second round of 66 that would earn him medal honors over Sebatian's second round of 70. Augustya had rounds of 73-66 that included nine birdies while earning him his first medal of the 2026-2027 season. Cutchon, of Castro Valley, recorded rounds of 69-70 with a total of seven birdies as he takes home fourth place while earning his first top-five finish of the season.
In the Girls division, Anita Lumpongpoung takes the field by storm as she wins by five shots after carding rounds of 73 and 67 to make this her first victory for the 2026-2027 JTNC season. Anita, class of 2028 from Chowchilla, got out to an ideal start during round one where she was 3-under through the opening eleven holes before some adversity started to set it. Her final six holes of the day told a different story as she found difficulties in maintaining her lead, Anita would card three bogeys and one double bogey to during this final stretch which meant a tighter leaderboard heading into round two. Anita's second round performance was something we were all a lot more familiar with when thinking about her past capabilities on the Junior Tour, she would go on to card a 5-under 66 while making six birdies! In the end, Anita had a total of ten birdies and she is now ranked 2nd on the Girls JTNC Player of the Year standings with 300 points.
Runner-up needed a card-off as both Bella Ransi and Ella Rawson were tied 1-over after two rounds. It was Bella Ransi, of El Dorado Hills, who took the silver medal as her second round of 72 was enough to see out Rawson's second round of 75. Ransi turned in rounds of 73-72 while making six birdies, and Rawson turned in rounds of 70-75 with a total of seven birdies earning her a third place medal. Fall Series III marks the first time this season that either of the two above mentioned players have placed in the top three spots and earned a medal. Fourth place went to Olivia Lee of Fairfield at 4-over par 148, Olivia was able to make three birdies over the 36-hole event.
