Junior Tour of Northern California Crowns Winners During Fall Series IV Championship at DeLaveaga Golf Course
PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (September 15, 2025) – The 2025-2026 Junior Tour of Northern California (JTNC) hosted its fourth event of the season and crowned champions during the Fall Series IV Championship held at DeLaveaga Golf Course in Santa Cruz.
Nick Cardinalli and Anita Lumpongpoung both win their respective flights, with the course playing to a par-70.
In the Boy’s Championship flight, Nick Cardinalli wins his first tournament of the 2025-2026 JTNC season after a playoff was needed versus Yasser Aziz Abduraup. The sudden-death playoff lasted just one hole with Yasser conceding after a couple of his errant tee shots did not stay in-bounds, while Nick precisely placed a drive in the middle of #10 fairway. Nick carded rounds of 71-74 to finish at 145, he picked up five birdies throughout the 36-hole event with his most impressive stretch being the front-nine during round two where carded a 33!
Runner-up in the Boys flight subsequently went to Yasser Aziz Abduraup of Fresno, Yasser turned in rounds of 73-72 with a total of five birdies. Yasser made a late push during round two as he birdied 14 and 15 to claim his spot at the top of the leaderboard to force the playoff with Cardinalli. In third place was Jacob Watney at 6-over par, Jacob carded rounds of 69-77 and was the leader after round one. Jacob had seven birdies over the weekend and event carded a front-nine 31 which was bogey free. Fourth place was picked up by Jackson Ortiz at 7-over par 147, Jackson carded a total of three bridies to place in the top-five here at Fall Series IV.
In the Girls’ Championship flight, Anita Lumpongpoung makes it back-to-back victories on the Junior Tour after winning in a playoff versus Cathy Zhang after the pair were tied at 3-under 137. Anita prevailed in the playoff thanks to her precise second, and third, shots on the dog leg left par-5 10th hole at Delaveaga. Anita had rounds of 69-68 for a total of 137 that included seven birdies, with her most important birdie coming during the final hole of regulation to force the playoff. Anita has started off the season strong and looks to build on her 2024-2025 JTNC Girls Player of the Year honors.
Second place eventually went to Cathy Zhang after the playoff, Cathy carded rounds of 72-65 with a tournament high nine birdies. Cathy had a superb stretch of golf during round two where she opened up birdie-birdie the first two holes, and then had four consecutive birdies on holes nine through thirteen! Third place was awarded to Emma Wang at 1-over par, the talent from Palo Alto turned in rounds of 69-72 with a total of five birdies. Fourth place went to Lucinda Wu who had rounds of 75-73 to finish at 8-over par, Lucinda had four birdies on the weekend.
