Junior Tour of Northern California Crowns Winners During Fall Series VIII Championship at The Golf Club at Moffett Field
PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (September October 9th, 2026) – The 2026-2027 Junior Tour of Northern California (JTNC) hosted its eighth tournament of the season, crowning champions during the Fall Series VIII Championship at The Golf Club at Moffett Field in Mountain View.
Jacob Vierneza and New Thongrattana win their respective divisions, with Vierneza finishing at 10-under par 134 while Thongrattana secured her champions medal at 9-under par 137 - the Girls played to a par-73 while the Boys played to a par-72.

In the Boy's division, Jacob Vierneza (class of 2028, Redwood City) wins his first tournament of the 2026-2027 JTNC season by one shot over Colin Schmiegel after impressive rounds of 68-66. It all came down to the final nine-holes of the tournament, where Vierneza needed hot streak in order to make a push for the winners medal, he ended up carding four birdies to overtake Schmiegel on the leaderboard and take home first place honors. Vierneza produced consistent high level golf as he carded a tournament high fourteen birdies over the 36-hole event! This is Jacob's second top-ten finish on the Junior Tour this season. Victory here at Fall Series VIII takes Vierneza up to 6th on the JTNC Boys Player of the Year standings with a total of 350 points, just 57 points off of the top-three ranked Boys.
Runner-up went to Colin Schmiegel, a class of 2028 talent from Danville, who turned in rounds 70-65 earning himself his fist medal of the season. Scmiegel turned in thirteen birdies over the 36-hole tournament and also had a bogey-free second round of 65! Third place went to Augustya Ganesh of Foster City at 8-under 136, Augustya carded a total of 10 birdies over the weekend and one eagle while earning second top-five finish of the 2026-2027 season. Fourth place went to Ernie Singh of Los Altos at 6-under par 138, Ernie had rounds of 72-66.

In the Girls division, New Thongrattana secures her first tournament win of the 2026-2027 JTNC season after a three recent top five finishes. New's start to the tournament was a bit shaky as she carded three bogeys during her opening nine-holes giving herself a bit of climb to get to the top of the leaderboard. Fortunately, her final nine-holes during round one would tell a different story as she carded a 5-under 31 to charge back up the standings in the Girls field. In the end New would need to make birdie on the final hole of the competition to seal her victory and that is exactly what she would go on to do while playing the 18th hole - a 342 yard par-4. Victory here at Fall Series VIII takes New to 2nd on the JTNC Girls Player of the Year standings after amassing a total of 594 points while be just 26 points shy of the first place ranked Girl.
Runner-up went to Emma Wang, class of 2027 from Palo Alto, who carded rounds of 71-67 for an 8-under 138. Emma had a total of 10 birdies throughout the event making this her first medal of the 2026-2027 JTNC season. Third place went to Tiffany Chang of San Jose, Tiffany finished at 7-under par 139 while picking up a total of 10 birdies as well and a bogey-free second round of 69! Fourth place was awarded to Erin Lee of San Ramon at 6-under par 140, Erin had rounds of 70-70 which included 8 birdies while also turning in a bogey-free first round.
