Junior Tour of Northern California Crowns Winners During Spring Series VIII Championship at Rooster Run Golf Club
PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (June 4th, 2026) – The 2025-2026 Junior Tour of Northern California (JTNC) hosted its 21st event of the season and eighth in the 2026 calendar year, crowning champions during the Spring Series VIII Championship at Rooster Run Golf Club in Petaluma.
Hayley Fong and Richard Ding win their respective divisions with the the course playing to a par-72 for both, with the Girls at 5,955 yards and the Boys at 6,580 yards.
In the Boy’s Championship flight, Richard Ding plays in and wins his first tournament of the season by five shots over the Boys field with rounds of 68-70. Richard's first round of 68 included some dominating golf as he carded four birdies and and eagle to end up tied for the clubhouse lead with Nicoi Tinti after day one. Round two is where Ding separated himself from the rest of the Boys field with a 2-under 70, including another eagle on the par-5 2nd hole and a birdie on the par-5 10th hole. In total, Ding was able to pick up five birdies, two eagles, and twenty-six pars throughout the 36-hole event. Victory here at Spring Series VIII places Richard at T-21 on the JTNC Boys Player of the Year standings with 300 points.
Second place ended in a card-off between Nico Tinti and Dillon Stone as the pair were tied after two rounds at 1-under par 143. In the end it was Dillon Stone who took the second place medal with a better second round of 72 versus Tinti's second day 75. Dillon carded rounds of 71-72 with a total of seven bridies, this is Dillon's first medal finish of the season. Third place went to Nico Tinti from El Dorado Hills, Nico had rounds of 68-75 while carding a total of eight birdies and one eagle on the par-5 18th hole during round one. Nico is currently ranked 16th on the Boys Player of the Year standings for 2025-2026.
In the Girls’ Championship flight, Hayley Fong makes it back to back wins on the Junior for the first time this season! Hayley was victorious at Spring Series VII and repeated it here at Spring Series VIII with a two-shot victory over the Girls field as she finished at 6-under par 138. Hayley produced rounds of 68-70 with ten birdies throughout the 36-hole event, two of those birdies came at a decisive moment in the tournament on holes 14 and 16 during the final round to help propel her up the leaderboard. An impressive stat from Fong's weekend has to be how she performed on each par-3, collectively she was 1-under on these holes with a total of three birdies. Hayley's victory takes her up to 4th on the Girls Player of the Year standings as she now sits 27 points behind the top-three ranked players.
Runner-up went to Erin Le Nguyen of San Jose at 4-under par 140, Erin carded rounds of 69-71 while picking up six birdies in total over the two rounds. This is Erin's eighth top-ten finish on the Junior Tour this season, keeping her 3rd place ranking on the Girls Player of the Year standings. Third place was awarded to Stevie Umali at 2-under 142, Umali turned in repeat rounds of 71-71 with a total of seven birdies to show for her podium finish. Umali's performance at Spring Series VIII makes it four top-10 finishes this season in as many tries. Fourth place ended in a tie between Ella Ding and Melody Liu as the pair both turned in a final score of 2-over par 146, Ding had rounds of 72-74 and Liu also had rounds of 72-74.
