Junior Tour of Northern California Crowns Winners During Summer Series II Championship at Poppy Ridge Golf Club
PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (June 17th, 2026) – The 2025-2026 Junior Tour of Northern California (JTNC) hosted its 23rd event of the season and tenth in the 2026 calendar year, crowning champions during the Summer Series II Championship at Poppy Ridge Golf Club in Livermore.
Nakul Shrivastava and Kelly Zhang win their respective divisions with the the course playing to a par-72 for both, with the Girls at 6,022 yards and the Boys at 6,814 yards.
In the Boy’s Championship flight, Nakul Shrivastava wins his fourth JTNC tournament of the 2025-2026 season after repeat rounds of 67-67 to finish at 10-under par 134. Nakul carried his sublime form into this championship as he has placed in the top-three in his previous four JTNC events, carding a total of eight birdies, one eagle, and a hole-in-one to cap off a perfect weekend performance. Round one saw Nakul ace the par-3 8th hole at Poppy Ridge with an 8-iron from 181 yards, further helping his case as the best Boys player on the Junior Tour. Round two was a bogey-free round with five birdies and thirteen pars, carding four consecutive birdies from holes thirteen to sixteen. A four shot victory over the Boys field increases Nakul's lead at the top of the JTNC Player of the Year standings to 858 points over the next closest player, with a total of 2,033 points.
Second place went to Cru Sullivan of Ripon, Cru carded rounds of 71-67 finishing at 6-under par 138 and two shots ahead of the next closest competitor. Cru tallied up twelve bridies and one eagle over the 36-hole tournament making this his third top-three finish for the 2025-2026 JTNC season and taking him to 3rd on the JTNC Player of the Year standings. Third place went to Justin Hu at 4-under par 140 after rounds of 73-67, this is Justin's third top-ten finish this season which takes him up to T25 on the JTNC Boys Player of the Year standings.
In the Girls’ Championship flight, Kelly Zhang claims her first tournament of the JTNC season in just as many tries as she wins by a total of three shots over the Girls field at Poppy Ridge. Kelly carded impressive rounds of 67-73 to end up at 4-under par 140, producing eight bridies and one eagle on the par-5 18th during play of the second round. The first round saw Kelly build a substantial lead over the Girls field as she carded a 33 front nine and a 34 back nine to be the clubhouse leader. Round two told a different story as unwanted bogeys started to pile up for Zhang, her composure to limit mistakes is what ultimately allowed her to see out a second round of 1-over 73 and stay atop of the Girls leaderboard. Victory here at Summer Series II takes Kelly up to T-26 on the JTNC Girls Player of the Year standings.
Runner-up went to Ashley Gettleman of Scotts Valley who carded rounds of 71-72 for a 1-under 143. Ashley beat out the next closest competitor by three shots as she secured her third top-five finish for the 2025-2026 season. Ashley carded a total of ten birdies throughout the championship, making three consecutive birdies on holes twelve, thirteen, and fourteen during play of the first round. Third place ended in a four way card-off between Diya Kumar, Sai Kaneshiro, Jayleen Sito, and Erin Lee as the quartet were level at 2-over par 146. In the end it was Diya Kumar who prevailed in the card-off as her second round of 3-under 69 was enough to see out the rest of the Girls. Bronze here at Summer Series II makes it Diya's sixth top-five finish on the Junior Tour this season and takes her up to 6th on the Girls JTNC Player of the Year standings.
